Ratings & Reviews Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-16. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
Ratings and reviews exist to help the next customer, so we keep them honest and neutral. Our rules:
- Confirmed hires only. A review can be written only by the customer on a connection the customer has confirmed was completed. There are no anonymous reviews and no reviews from people who never hired the handyman.
- One review per job. Each confirmed job can produce at most one review.
- A neutral cooling-off window. A review is held for about 48 hours before it is published. The delay applies to every review, good or bad, so nobody can use it to choose which reviews see the light of day.
- Disputes freeze the rating. If the job is disputed, the review is held while the dispute is open, and the handyman has a right of reply.
- We never write, edit, or rewrite a review. We do not author reviews, and we do not change the wording of a review a customer wrote. We are a neutral host of what customers say.
- We never suppress a review because it is negative. A low rating is published the same way a high one is, once it clears the cooling-off window.
- Removal only for policy or law violations. We remove a review only if the transaction behind it did not happen, or if the review breaks the law or our Terms (for example, it contains someone's private information, a threat, or unlawful content). We do not remove a review merely because the handyman disagrees with it.
- No incentives. We do not pay for, discount, or reward reviews, and we do not condition anything of value on leaving a review.
How the aggregate star rating is computed
When a profile or a search result shows a star rating, that number is a simple, unweighted average of the ratings on the published reviews for that handyman, rounded to one decimal place, with the number of published reviews shown beside it. It is computed by us, from the reviews described above. We do not curate, weight, or round it to favour any handyman, and a handyman with no published reviews shows "No reviews yet" rather than a score.
Reporting a review
A handyman may flag a review from their account for a person to look at. Flagging a review does not remove it, and a review is never removed automatically. To report a review you believe is unlawful or breaks these rules, email [email protected].
