Accessibility statement

The Handyman Austin is committed to making our Austin handyman directory and introduction service usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. This statement covers thehandymanaustin.com and is owned and operated by GCExperts LLC.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site is built with semantic headings and landmarks, one main heading per page, a visible skip link, labelled form fields, keyboard-visible focus that is not obscured, colour contrast chosen for readability, text that reflows on small screens, and support for the prefers-reduced-motion setting. Tables and forms expose their purpose to assistive technology. We also work to the WCAG 2.2 additions, including minimum target size for controls, no reliance on dragging movements, consistent help and navigation, no need to re-enter information you already gave us, and accessible authentication that does not rely on a cognitive test.

Measures we take

Conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform. We are working to close the gaps in "Known limitations" below.

Known limitations

We are continually improving. If you meet a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it and provide the information you need in another format.

Feedback and contact

If any part of this site is not accessible to you, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it, including providing content in an alternative format.
